[Buecher] Enterprise: Es geht weiter in Buchform

Die letzte Enterprise ist ja nun in Deutschland gelaufen. Wie ich in
meinem Notenposting schon sagte: Gut, ein paar nette Szenen waren dabei
aber im Grossen und Ganzen kommt bei mir nicht mehr als eine 6 heraus.

Dem was andere schon geschrieben haben, die meine Meinung mehr oder
weniger teilen, schliesse ich mich an und ich habe ehrlich gesagt auch
keine Lust, mich mit einer Story auseinanderzusetzen, die mich mehr
geaergert hatte als "Nemesis". Um das hinzubekommen, dazu gehoert schon
einiges!



Margaret Clark ist die Herausgeberin der Enterprise Romane bei Pocket
Books. Sie hatte bereits vor geraumer Zeit angekuendigt, dass "Last
Full Measure" (Michael A. Martin und Andy Mangels) einen
wichtigen Hinweis geben wird wie sie mit TATV umgehen wird.

Das Buch ist vor kurzem in den USA erschienen. Meine detaillierte

Once more dear friends....

Right.

I read the script for "These Are The Voyages..." and was horrified naw I
HATED it. This was how they were ending the show? REALLY? In my opinion,
this was not a meaningful death. (See: Spock, ST:II) It was almost as if
someone had said, "Well, someone has to die, let’s kill a popular
character. Let’s kill Trip."

I waited until I saw the show, even more annoyed (NOT the verb I would
like to use) seeing it. But I thought about it, and I thought I knew
what could/would work and what I’d like to do. I went with my heart. (I
didn’t go near the boards.)

Now with the change of the publishing program, LFM got moved, big time.
I suggested the framing sequence, to the M&M boys, to acknowledge the
passage of time. They gave me one. Then, I started reading the
interviews that Mr. Berman and Mr. Braga gave on the show finale. I
called M. "Nice story but I wonder... let’s change the framing." Huh?
"Let’s make it (short version) Trip, and while we are at it, let’s have
him meet a very serious George Samuel Kirk, and his young kid brother,
Jim."

I don’t take contradicting established continuity lightly. I respect the
show(s) and the fans (being one myself). But TATV was many things, one
thing it was NOT was, "A love letter to the fans."

hundertprozentig zu.

Gerade ging in den USA die Shore Leave Convention zu Ende und es gibt
interessante Neuigkeiten fuer Fans wie mich, die sich auf Enterprise
Relaunch freuen. "Last Full Measure" ist in gewisser Hinsicht ein Teaser
aber los geht es voraussichtlich im Maerz 2007:

"The Good that Men Do" von Andy Mangels und Michael A. Martin

Ich schreibe einmal zwei Auszuege von zwei Conreports hier in Englisch
ab:

While the plot details and actual title have yet to be released,
Margaret Clark did announce at Shore Leave convention in July 2006 that
The Good that Men Do will function as a sort of relaunch for the
franchise, setting into motion some major events in Star Trek history!
The book will also address historical inconsistencies from the
Enterprise TV finale "These are the Voyages..." and address some
shocking revelations at the tail end of Mangels and Martin`s previous
novel, "Last Full Measure".

At Shore Leave Margaret also pointed out that if you look closely at the
background of the cover, you can discern that Trip is on a Romulan
ship... she`s bringing Trip back and taking us towards the Romulan War.
She also pointed out that since we saw the events of TATV through a 24th
century holoprogram, we only learned the "official" version of what
happened. Now we`re going to learn what REALLY happened.


Wow. Ich kann es jedenfalls kaum erwarten.
