Hallo,

ich bin auf der Suche nach einer detaillierten Biographie von

Sigismond Mathias Quasdanovich

Was ich bisher ueber diesen Herren finden konnte:
+++++
QUASDANOVICH, Sigismond Mathias (quas-dah-no-vitch'), Hungarian
explorer, born in Buda in 1742; died in Vienna, Austria, in 1796. He
received his education in Vienna, and was afterward assistant professor
of botany in the university of that city. In 1784 he was sent to the
West Indies and South America, and, obtaining from Charles III., after
some difficulties, permission to enter the Spanish dominions, he
explored for three years Cuba, Porto Rico, Jamaica, and Santo Domingo.
He went afterward to Guiana, and returned in 1789 to Vienna with
important botanical collections, which he presented to the Academy of
sciences. Among his works are "Reise dutch Guiana" (Vienna, 1790); "
Beschreibung der Insel Cuba" (1791); "Hundert Tage auf Reisen in Porto
Rico" (1791) ; .... Guiana Skizzen" (1792) ; " Geschichte und Zustende
der Indianer in Guiana" (1793) ; "Institutiones regni vegetabilis"
(1794); and " Historia generalis plantarum Americanarum" (3 vols., 1795).

Wenn mir hier jemand weiterhelfen koennte, waere ich sehr dankbar.

Ciao Honi
